Aromatherapy has been a staple in spiritual practices for thousands of years. Many Wiccans practice Witchcraft, some might make potions, elixirs, infusions, tinctures and some may not. It’s up to the individual solitary witch or the coven.

If you believe the herbs have energy, you might mix a potion just to keep in a bottle to dab some on yourself when you need that energy (health, courage) or when you want to draw something to you (money, love) or to repel something you don’t want and to protect you (negativity, illness). This Infusion of herbs only becomes a potion when the energy, purpose and spells are added. You must have a good understanding of how the potion is suppose to work, both scientifically and spiritually. Use only properly stored herbs, as any that are over a year old have lost a lot of their potential.

By reciting spells and sending energy into the herbs, your raising energy from the natural items you are using. Largely, though, they work on a psychological level (aromatherapy, color, scent, etc., which has an effect on the brain). I personally don’t believe there is white magic or black magic, it is the intent behind the spell that causes it to be negative or positive.

Some people practice magic timing it with moon phases because they believe the moon, sun, stars or planets have different energies and influences, so they can help (or hinder) your spell. A new moon might be chosen if you are starting a new spell, while a waning moon might be chosen if you are trying to banish something.

Hi. Very informative site! Do you have a recipe for allergies (itchy nose, ears and throat)particularly?

    • Aldora says:

It sounds like Rhinitis or an allergic reaction to something your eating. I get those symptoms when I eat shell fish as I’m allergic to it. For relief of symptoms like that Chinese Alternative Herbal medicine is what you may need. Xin Yi Hua and Cang Er Zi are two Chinese herbs used together to cure symptoms of “itching” when someone is diagnosed with rhinitis or similar. Good luck, let me know if it helps :)

Hi, I was wondering if you had anything to promote fertility? My husband and I are trying to get pregnant, but it’s been a little difficult. I’d really appreciate it.

    • Aldora says:

Hi Autumn, hope you have success soon! Promoting fertility…this would depend on which partner was the one having the problem but anything helps so make sure you are both giving off positive vibes and are open to accepting good energy from what nature has to offer. Daily stress and negative energy can be extremely powerful in blocking couples and pregnancy. Wear Rose Quartz. Making tea’s for both of you to consume or herbal simmering pots brewing in the bedroom. Herbs that you would use for conceiving Red Clover, Royal Jelly, Dong Quai, False Unicorn, Red Raspberry Leaf, Vitex (Chaste Berry). As always please research, double check all herbs dosage and usage before you use them. Verify your sources. Checking with your doctor if you haven’t used it before is also recommended. Be aware of allergies to herbs! Good Luck :)

    Hello!
Love this site. My husband has his back fused from his work. He is always in some pain in his neck and lower back. He takes meds but is there anything I can make for him that can help his neck and lower back to relieve some stress and comfort him on the days it really flares up?

    • Aldora says:

Herbal pain relief oil such as Rumatone Gold Oil is very effective ayurvedic herbal formula for getting relief from back neck pain. Yoga will help for sure. Herbs to use…Red pepper contains a marvelous pain-relieving chemical—capsaicin—that is so potent a tiny amount provides the active ingredient in some powerful pharmaceutical topical analgesics. (You can mash a red pepper and rub it directly on the painful area. You can also take any white skin cream you have on hand-cold cream will do-and mix in enough red pepper to turn it pink.) Make a tea by throwing roughly a handful of birch bark or wintergreen into a cup or two of boiling water and letting it steep for about 10 minutes.

Massage treatment with essential oils can often help relieve the painful muscle spasms that contribute to back pain. Several of these—sage, rosemary, thyme, horsebalm and mountain dittany—are rich in thymol and carvacrol, compounds that help muscles relax. Aromatherapists often suggest using the oils of birch, lavender, black pepper, clary, ginger and marjoram to alleviate backache.

Hope this helps, blessed be – Aldora

When I first seen your collection of things you had on your website, I had a big smile of excitement. I really enjoyed looking over what you had, I’m just a beginner in this sort of thing and want to further explore my inner being of expertise. It all started with my mom, she wasn’t a witch she was just curiosity I believe, but she may have believed in that sort of things. I remember when I was real young I was sick and when she came home she surprised me with a black cat. About 8 years ago she had suffered from a stroke and she was paralyzed on her left side, and I remember her laying in her bed and she wanted me (the youngest of a family of 8) to have her small box of crystals. An so I kept them for a number of years and still till this day, then I met my best friend Kiernan in sophomore year in High school. He showed me that they have crystal properties and told me what I had. He gave me a nice clear quartz because one day my shoulder hurt and it felt a lot better I bring that crystal everywhere I go. Now that it’s been a year after high school, I’m learning to become a Forestry Technician/Fire Fighting and work out in the woods. I love Mother Earth, Father Sky and the four winds and plan to live in the wild near her. But enough about me, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy what you have here and wanted to thank you. I heard that the smell of cinnamon can help with your memory, and indigested can be a anti-parasitic. But I don’t know that for sure, and I had a question. Are Elves, Fairies, Huldras real? and what are your experiences with them? Thank You ;)

im a wiccan and im currently working on helping a friends grandmother with her arthritis joint pain. its near crippling and she hates to see her like that. i was wondering if i should try dandelion oil. what do you think?

    • Aldora says:

I think you should try everything herbal in small doses – each individually so you can see what works best. That way if there is ill effects you can omit that herb and move on. Try making teas as well as lotions or oils to apply directly to the inflamed site.
